leher

Hey guys , we are back with the second blog of our print series. Last time we styled stripes, but this time we went for a more Indian fabric - LEHERIYA.
Leheriya is a traditional style of tie and dye practiced in Rajasthan that result in brightly colored cloth with distinctive patterns. the technique gets its name from the Rajasthani word for 'WAVE' .
Leheriya has been worn by women over the ages now and has been a Bollywood favourite .
We personally love leheriya as a print. we used leheriya dupttas with western outfits to keep the balance between modern and traditional going.

LOOK 1

we used a multi colored leheriya dupattas for the look . generally multicolored fabrics are difficult to style so we kept our outfits monotonous,so that  no colors of the dupatta clash with the outfit. We used a beige straight pants along with a white crop top. the duppatta was draped around the neck. As the colors of the outfits were subtle all the colors of the duppatta showed beautifully. For the jewelry we used the earcuff on the top of the ear and big dangler earrings , a kada and few rings. the classic white shoes to complete the look. For makeup the eyes were kept soft and brown with pink lips. This look can be easily worn to college and is a perfect street-style look.
PS : you can drap duppatta in whatever style you want .

LOOK 2

For this look we had bright orange leheriya dupatta in mind so we decided to style it with something that would not overpower the color of the dupatta. So we chose a black below the dress with a large tan belt. This dress was too long for our liking so we decided to knot it up from one side. te belt gave definition to the waist as well a held dupatta in place. Since the dress was black the dupatta was in its full glory . the jewelry gave a tribal look to the outfit with little choker , kada,  and a nose pin. Our favorite chunky boots completed the look.

STRIPY BABY

Hey guys, how is it going? Hope you guys liked our previous blog wherein we DIYed the jacket. This time we have again come up with a series. We will be doing three blogs in this series. The title itself would have given you the idea that it has something to do with prints.
So our next series is all about prints. We will be style three different prints which will have a BOHO touch to it.

"STRIPES ARE A STAPLE IN YOUR WARDROBE

                 - THEY'RE A CLASSIC, LIKE CAMO."

                                                                       - GIOVANNA BATTAGLIA ENGLEBERT

So as the title suggests our first print is STRIPES. Stripes easily found everywhere around the world .  It has also been in trend from pas few years .They are available in almost every girls wardrobe. But stripes are the print which are tricky to style , they can sometime overpower the look. We wanted to do something different so we styled striped sarees.

SAREES ARE A CLASSIC AND NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.

LOOK 1

For this look we used a multi color saree with combination stripes on it. This saree had a detailing of balanced stripes just above the border. This saree in particular was a little tricky to style as there are bright colors in it. Whenever you want to style something which has bright color or has many color wear simple accessories and makeup. A full sleeved red t-shirt was used as blouse .The cold rimmed eyes and soft pink lipstick and a big red bindi was used for makeup. The jewelry was kept minimal bronze jhumkas and bangles were stacked. The bronze jewelry matched the border of the saree which complimented the look. We had a very limited amount of bronze jewelry so we skipped the necklace and decided to do a tattoo. Basically we tried to do a Bengali look inspired by PARO (from devdas) . Also we used blue sneakers as footwear to give it a modern look.

LOOK 2

For look two we styled a pink cotton saree with self printed pin stripes. This saree was rather easy to style . We used  a plain white crop top as blouse. Crop top and t-shirts as blouses are quite a rage.
White crop top also emphasizes the color of the saree. The saree is quite simple so we decided to go heavy on the jewelry and makeup. The eyes were kept nude with heavy liner n kajal and lips were kept dark with reddish mauve lipstick. A silver oxidised choker and silver dangler earrings and kadas for both hands. We used white shoes to compliment the color of the blouse. Here we tried to do a  traditional yet modern wedding guest look.

DO IT YOURSELF(DENIM JACKET)

WHEN YOU BUY AN OUTFIT,
YOU OWN IT.
BUT WHEN YOU DIY IT,
YOU MAKE IT YOUR OWN.

For this blog, we upgraded a simple denim jacket into a fun and boho one. When you DIY an simple outfit you can express yourself. Denim jacket has been quite a rage in the past few years so we decided DIY it. The bonus is that this whole thing is under 1000 rupees which quite affordable for college going girls.
So we bought a denim jacket from Colaba for 500 rupees. We used different trims and laces to give it the boho look.We glued on laces on the hem of the jacket with the help of fabric glue. For the back side of the jacket we laces of different colours and embroideries so that patch would stand out.
You could use any laces that you want or that you already have. We covered the sides of that patch with pom pom trims.
For the front side we glued on tassels on buttons and stuck kodi shells to the sides of the pockets and above the patch pockets. You need not do the exact same things as we did. You can modify, add or remove things according to your preferences.

Hope you like it.

STYLE IT UP PART -2

FASHION SAYS "ME TOO" STYLE SAYS "ONLY ME"

This is the best way in which one can describe style. And this is what today's blog is about.
As said in the previous blog, this time we are going to show you how to style bottoms in two different ways. For this we chose a long flares black Palazzo with tiny print details.
We styled these in two ways i.e. street style and Indian wear.

We particularly chose these two styles because

a) Festive season round the corner.
b) street style is in trend and can be worn in colleges or for a casual brunch.

LOOK 1 :

STREET STYLE:
We used this pair of Palazzo as a street style look. We used a tank top over the Palazzo and layered it with a denim jacket [ layering is the best way in which you can upgrade any simple outfit.]

Our accessories were kept quite minimal as this outfit stood out for itself. We used a black beaded choker and round frame sunglasses.Silver sneakers finished the look. For make up we did brown smokey eyes mauve pink lips.

LOOK 2 : Ethnic wear

We styled the plazzos under a red front slit kurti. The colour of the kurti matched to the print of the plazzos.
As a palazzo has a lot of flare to it. We decided to keep the kurti well fitted. We accessorised the look with silver oxidized jhumkhas and a tiny mang tika to end with. We used bright yellow chappal and braided completed the look.

This look can easily pass off as an Indian wedding guest look.

STYLE IT UP

                  FASHION IS
     WHAT YOU BUY
     STYLE IS
        WHAT YOU DO WITH IT

THIS QUOTE PERFECTLY FITS OUR BLOG AS WE ARE GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO STYLE ONE PIECE OF CLOTHING IN TWO DIFFERENT STYLES.
PS: THIS PARTICULAR SERIES IS GOING TO BE DIVIDED IN TWO PARTS.
IN ONE WE STYLED TOPS AND IN OTHER WE STYLED BOTTOMS.

FOR THIS BLOG WE CHOSE A PLAIN BLACK KURTA AND DECIDED TO STYLE IT AS A FORMAL LOOK AND A STREET STYLE LOOK . BOTH THE LOOKS HAVE A  HINT OF BOHO TO THEM.

LOOK 1
FORMAL WEAR
FOR THIS LOOK WE STYLED THE KURTA WITH PLEATED BLACK PALAZZO. AS THIS KURTA IS LONGER AT THE SIDE HEMS WE ADDED A BELT TO THE WAIST SO IT WOULD GIVE IT SOME DEFINITION. AS THIS IS A FORMAL LOOK WE KEPT THE JEWELLERY QUITE MINIMAL. WE PAIRED SMALL YELLOW  CHANDBAALI TO ADD A POP OF COLOUR TO AN ALL BLACK OUTFIT.

A SIMPLE METAL STRAPPED WATCH FINISHED THE LOOK.
WE USED CHAPPALS MATCHING THE COLOUR OF THE EARRINGS TO ADD A BOHO TOUCH THE LOOK .
THE MAKEUP WAS KEPT QUITE MINIMAL AS IT IS A FORMAL LOOK . WE KEPT THE EYE MAKEUP BASIC WITH A WASH OF BROWN EYE SHADOW AND LOADS OF MASCARA. THE LOOK WAS COMPLETED WITH A NUDE LIP.

LOOK 2
STREET STYLE

WE TURNED THE KURTA INTO A DRESS TO GIVE IT OOMPH !!! WE LAYERED THE KURTA WITH A PLAID CHECKS SHIRT AND KNOTTED IT UP.
WE STACKED GREEN GLASS BANGLES ALONG WITH SOME OXIDISED ONE'S ON ONE HAND.
BIG HOOPS WERE ADDED TO GIVE IT A CHIC LOOK .WE FINISHED THE LOOK WITH ROUND FRAMED SUNGLASSES. FOR MAKEUP THE EYES WERE KEPT SIMPLE AND COMPLETED THE LOOK WITH DARK VAMPY LIPS.

THE JEWELLERY WAS KEPT BRONZE MATCHING TO THE BORDER OF THE SKIRT. THIS INCLUDED JHUMKAS AND STACKED BANGLES ON ONE HAND .

   LOOK 2 :
FOR THIS LOOK WE MADE A ONE PIECE OUT OF A LONG SKIRT AND PUT ON A BELT THAT CLINGED TO THE WAIST. WE PAIRED THIS LOOK WITH A SHORT JACKET . FOR THE ACCESSORIES WE LAYERED THREE NECK PIECES , KADA ON THE HAND AND STACKED EAR CUFFS TO TOP IT OFF.

LOOK 3 :
WE PAIRED A LONG  KURTA WITH RIPPED BLACK DENIMS. WE CUT OUT A LONG SLIT ON THE ONE SIDE OF THE KURTA TO GIVE IT MORE DEFINITION. FOR JEWELLERY WE WENT FOR HEAVY EARRINGS ALONG WITH SOME RINGS . THE LOOK WAS COMPLETED WITH CHUNKY BOOTS.
